Update: Life at Home

Don't get me wrong. I love being at home. I love relaxing. I love going to the gym with my mom, and I love watching my little sisters be silly. But...when you are spending your weekends all alone while both your parents and all your sisters are out with friends sitting at home by myself is not what I would call very fun. But, every now and then something happens that provides for a good story. A few weeks ago we woke up to a dead deer on our driveway (the perks of living in the woods), so we did what any non-hunting, all girl family would do...we threw it in the back of our truck and gave it to our friends whose dog eats raw meat. yum.

Thank you groupon for providing us with super cheap tickets to the Rascal Flatts (they were my first concert in 2007), and more importantly to the lady who gave us front row tickets!

We were very happy with our new seating arrangements!

Hey, did you know that it's time for spring skiing already! Seriously, people everywhere were skiing with only their t-shirts on, light jackets, or like a few select boys with no shirt at all. So, being the rational person I am I joined them all and spent part of the day in my t-shirt.

That's pretty much it for now, only 31 days till I enter the MTC!!!

2012 highlights

January: One year ago today, I hopped on a plane that took me to a place that introduced me to new cultures, new friends, and provided so many experiences that taught me so much about myself. At the end of the month I went to Petra and kissed a camel.

February: Everyday was spent exploring new roads in the old city and playing soccer with new friends in the neighborhood.

March: I spent a week and a half traveling around Turkey, and then two weeks in Galilee.

April: Brooke and Doug got married!

May: I moved back home for the summer and spent as much time as I could with my family.

June: Most days were spent at the lake and I turned 20!

July: More water skiing:)

August: Jerusalem reunion at Bear Lake and I moved back to Provo for school.

September: School started and I did the dirty dash(seriously, a little kids dream come true).

October: Lots and lots of football games!

November: One of the most memorable moments this year. I received my mission call for my church to Los Angeles, California. Spanish speaking. I am so insanely excited!

December: Spent Christmas in Hawaii!

2012 has been so good to me. I've traveled to Israel, Jordan, and Turkey. I have started the Elementary Education program at school, and most importantly I received my mission call to Los Angeles. I am so incredibly grateful for my family who loves me and is always supportive. Even though this past year has definitely been one for the books I know 2013 will be even better. There will undoubtedly be hard times, but the rewards and experiences will far exceed the hardships.

Mele Kalikimaka

Christmas mornings are usually filled with wrapping paper, cookies, and snow...and generally racing downstairs to see what's laying around the Christmas tree is my favorite, but this year I was more than happy to give all that up for some sun and the beach. After years of begging our dad to go to Hawaii we finally went! Everyday was filled with being lazy on the beach and having shaved ice every.single.day. We went to the temple, Polynesian Cultural Center, more than one beach a day, and on top of all that trying to fit in all the favorite places to eat. On Christmas morning we went on a hike and by the time we were on the way down it had started raining buckets on us. We were soaked within seconds even though we had just dried off after swimming at the waterfall. Good thing I had a towel so that we could wrap the camera and phone up in it! I'm so grateful for a family full of goofballs that are constantly making me laugh. They are seriously my best friends. Now it's back to the snow to get my fill of skiing in.

My semester is famous!

They filmed a new hosting video while I was there. This brings back so many amazing memories.
