4th of July

A little late for pictures from the Fourth? Never! Why? Because you can always celebrate where you live 365 days a year! Every year the fam goes to a little parade in Spirit Lake, and this town knows how to keep it classy with a clan of lawn mowers, floats that throw otter pops, and ending the "huge" parade a logging truck! Happy Fourth of July!

So I must admit something. I'm having a bit of a blogging identity crisis. When I started this I had something cool too post about, but at this point it is going to be very difficult to top JERUSALEM! I'm not a photographer, writer, married with kids, a fashion guru, or something else that is worthwhile for people to read about, so I've had a difficult time figuring where I want this little shenanigan to go.

Get ready for a little change.

These pictures are from a few weeks ago, but we hit the day rolling and spent our entire day at the soccer fields. I can't tell you guys how crazy it is to think about how different my childhood is from my little sisters. I grew up on the softball fields and basketball courts. They are growing up on the soccer fields. I grew up in the woods overlooking the temple. They are growing up in the woods with our grandparents and cousins as our only neighbors(but still in the woods). Even though I feel like we have grown up in completely different environments in the same family there is nothing like coming home to a family full of girls.

Camping?

We had a ward "campout" this weekend, and let me tell you our family knows how to rough it. We slept in a huge field right next to the temple, so it was definitely a populated area and we slept in like a 20 man tent. With a family full of girls some of us need our luxuries.

It's Rachels Birthday, Shout Hurray!

Rachel, Rachel Rose, Rach, Rachy, Rosie, Rachel Roo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Recorded in my journal, June 8, 1992: "This baby is very active. When it gets going it actually hurts when it kicks and starts rolling around." Most babies when they are full term do not roll around they just stretch and kick, but not Rachel, she was turning and rolling til the end. From the get go not much could keep Rachel from moving on full speed, loving every minute of life. 20 years ago today Rachel made her debut into the world around noon, measuring in at 7 lb. 1 ounce and 19 inches long. As all of you know it is a rare day that Rachel doesn't have a smile on her face, this day Rachel's hair is even happy!
Thanks for 20 years of smiles and joy! Today you leave your teen years behind but I think you will always be a kid at heart.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Love, Mom

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to one of the best dads in the world! If having a family full of girls doesn't make you pretty special I don't know what does.
Dad, you have taught all us lessons that are a huge part of who I am. You have taught me how to work hard, and how to laugh all of my problems away.
Thanks for always playing "horse" with us, all the Christmas gag gifts, and all the weekend trips to softball tournaments.
I love you to the moon and back!

Found

Today was a great day for so many reasons!
1. It's friday, so that's obviously a plus
2. I made a list of projects i want to do
3. I bought my ticket to the midnight premiere for The Dark Knight Rises
and most importantly...
I found my driver's license,(I won't tell how long it's been lost) but let's just say that i'm pretty stoked about not having to drive around all paranoid.

Summer Project list:
Make a Jerusalem memory book
Do a few paintings of Jerusalem to decorate my dorm with in the fall
Finish the bathroom in the basement
Do some graffiti on the walls in our basement (Not totally sure if this one is going to happen, but i'm being optimistic)
Read a few Classical books (Gone With the Wind, Emma, etc.)

Just as soon as I finish my painting for my Grandma I'll start...

Date Night

Lucky for me, I got to spend date night with my little Mushu! There is nothing like spending the night with your younger sister, and laughing at all the ridiculous things in Madagascar 3. One of the hardest parts about being at college is not seeing them grow up, and then when I come home I don't get any of their little jokes because I wasn't there. So, here's to spending a summer making memories with my best friends!
